Bugs fixed

  • Import into trueSpace 4.3 created a red channel in the reflectance shader - imported models rendered with a bright red material until the reflectance shader was changed manually.

New features

  • Added a user defined ambient and specular settings when importing files. This re-sets the ambient value to whatever is required, rather than always using 0.
  • Added an option to copy texture maps when exporting models. This is to keep all the maps in the same location as the .OBJ file that's created.

Bugs fixed

  • Exporting of materials in hierarchical objects did not work if the child object names were the same. To fix this, each child now has a separate material that's named after the object by using the full name of the object. This should make it easier to find materials by their names when UV mapping etc.

New features

  • Export of normals for faces.
  • Export of smoothing groups for faces. This provides smoothing for normals over the face groups when the trueSpace 'autofacet' material setting is active. This has the effect of causing the faces to have smooth shading after export.
  • Improved speed of import and export.
  • Added autofacet angle option: you can now set the autofacet angle to whatever is required when models are imported.
  • Added scaling factor option: when importing models, the the amount by which models are 'autoscaled' can be set.

Bugs fixed

  • Fix for negative index offsets in files. This caused certain files to fail loading eg. from Plantstudio.
  • Turning off warning dialogs did not remove all message boxes.
  • Clamp UV coordinates to 0.0 - stops UVMapper complaining about out of range UV values.

Bugs fixed

  • Fix for incorrect import of materials. This was a somewhat random problem that prevented import of some material colours.

New features

  • Support for group objects in trueSpace when exporting and when importing. Creation of groups when importing can be turned off so that the groups are merged together into a single mesh.
  • When exporting, faces with holes are triangulated so that the holes are preserved (not supported under trueSpace 4.3).
  • Added an auto-scaling option that may be turned off. This re-scales and rotates imported objects in a similar way to the native trueSpace .OBJ file importer.

Bugs fixed

  • Can now load Macintosh .OBJ files.
  • Under trueSpace 4.3, models that contained triangular faces had those faces appear black after import.
